Cannot convert to ExchangeVersion

A new issue has surfaced in Exchange Online recently. It was reported on January 16th, 2024, on Reddit, and in a Microsoft forum on January 18th.

The issue was first brought to our attention by a client who experienced it when using Easy365Manager.

So far, the problem only affects a very limited number of tenants and only a limited number of users in the tenant, but this may change.

Error When Running Get-MailboxFolderPermission

When you try to obtain calendar folder permissions, you may see the following error message:

Microsoft hasn’t commented on this so far, and we would like all affected customers to create a ticket with Microsoft.

There is a workaround to fix this in PowerShell by using the Get-EXOMailboxFolderPermission CmdLet instead.

It will be interesting to see the response time from Microsoft on this issue.

Update, 2024-01-29

We received information from an affected client that the problem has now disappeared. This is also seen in reports in Microsoft (self)support forums.

Apparently, this event can now be added to the list of EXO issues that come and go without any updates from Microsoft…
